Dan Gerard Mlynarek

I try to captivate my audience with luscious colors, aesthetically pleasing lines, and a balanced composition.  My paintings are a glimpse of contemplation being released without initial constraints.  The direction I take my work is ignited by an emotional journey of expression.

I work in a variety of mediums, allowing me the ability to explore a diverseness of processes, while still being motivated by the same creative influences. I'm intrigued with unconventional perspectives and provoked by captivating colors.

Abstraction has played a significant role in my development as an artist.  The

embracing of this style, and the challenge of engaging the viewer encourages and drives my creativity. The subject matter of my work is influenced and inspired by experiences in my life, and my natural surroundings.

I allow for a more controlled and technical execution while designing and working with wood.  The works  I create and build are unique unto themselves.  I choose not to mass-produce or replicate pieces, allowing each one to have  its own mark. Every piece inspires and gives momentum to the next.

Working with wood as a medium permits me to explore and experiment with abstraction,  while introducing traditional elements.  Distinctive grains,  vibrant coloring, and natural textures in the wood, all act as a catalyst, driving the development and design of each piece.

Creating and producing artwork has been the magnetizing force of my personal journey. Involved in athletics throughout my early years, it wasn't until an injury in college, while playing baseball, that I realized my  true passion in life was creating art.

I attended the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Fine Art.

Painting, sculpture, photography, and woodworking are the primary mediums I choose to express my creativity.
